My Mac Mini has been dead since the end of February (waiting for a new model to come out), so I can't download it before I arrive at work tomorrow morning. So far I've always been using gphoto in a virtual machine (linux) to retrieve the shutter count of my 550D. It works wonderfully, but it's a hassle to be honest. 550D | EF-S 18-55mm F/3.5-5.6 IS | EF 50mm F/1.8 II | EF 70-200mm F/4L IS | Speedlite 580EX II | LumoPro LP180 | Gitzo GT3541XLS | Arca-Swiss Monoball Z1 SP | ONA Bowery (black, non-leather) LOG IN TO REPLY |

Thanks for this. It would be nice if we can edit the owner's name or the copyright of the camera but even if not still a great app. photostakenbyanthony feedbacks:potn| potn | potn | potn | fredmiranda | mylespaul | ebay LOG IN TO REPLY |

Turns out it's done 11k more than I thought! Cheers for sharing! I also tried my EOS-M. It picked it up, but doesn't show shutter count. jocaujocau 1,838 posts Gallery: 11 photos Likes: 338 Joined Mar 2012 Location: Belgium | Tested it at work with my 550D. It appears to be working (will double-check the shutter count in linux with gphoto later on to compare them both). After taking a shot, the shutter count increases by 1 while the available shots decreases by 1. So far, so good. However the owner's name field stays empty here. Which value has to be set in the camera for this? 550D | EF-S 18-55mm F/3.5-5.6 IS | EF 50mm F/1.8 II | EF 70-200mm F/4L IS | Speedlite 580EX II | LumoPro LP180 | Gitzo GT3541XLS | Arca-Swiss Monoball Z1 SP | ONA Bowery (black, non-leather) LOG IN TO REPLY |

Which value has to be set in the camera for this? As far as I know there is no way to set this value in the camera. In one of the future versions I will make the copyright/author fields editable in the EOS Inspector, so you be able to customize them. Shows its connected, but gives me a blank box. Any ideas? 7d|tamron 17-50mm f2.8 LOG IN TO REPLY |
jocaujocau 1,838 posts Gallery: 11 photos Likes: 338 Joined Mar 2012 Location: Belgium | I like the app. It's nice, clean and minimalistic but it gets the job done. It's a huge difference in used diskspace compared to my previous solution (Linux vmware image). So I hope this handy, little application is here to stay. 550D | EF-S 18-55mm F/3.5-5.6 IS | EF 50mm F/1.8 II | EF 70-200mm F/4L IS | Speedlite 580EX II | LumoPro LP180 | Gitzo GT3541XLS | Arca-Swiss Monoball Z1 SP | ONA Bowery (black, non-leather) LOG IN TO REPLY |

Thank you so much! Really appreciate it! ? jocau wrote in post #16835950 So that means the application is accurate and I can dump the whole Linux VMware setup. Yeah, your VMware setup sounded like an overkill for a simple shutter count check) ShutterCheck for Mac — Check Shutter Count of Your Canon EOS Camera. LOG IN TO REPLY |
